So it took me almost 2 months to do a month worth of blogs (I started this round on Jan 22) and even at that some of them were like this one in that they do not have much to say.
But I ask you..... how much can you say about shoveling snow?? I mean..... really? It is hard to have a super interesting/creative blog when you are buried under 20 feet of snow.
Thankfully the snow is melting and brighter days are ahead. Days filled with motorcycles, stock car races, walks in the park, bike rides, trips to the beach, cruising in my old Dodge (hopefully), car shows and who knows what else...... so give me about 5 or 6 days and then come back and we will have a go at this again.
I promise it will be much more interesting...... unless it snows again. Then I will blog about moving to Hawaii :)

Leave Friday morning from Regina. Down through Sidney Montana then just east a bit and head south down highway 23 to Medora. Highway 23 is supposed to be amazing. Camp in Roosevelt Park Friday night. Just under 500kms.
Saturday head north east to Four Bears village. It's only about 200kms. So lots of time to do some exploring, or hiking or fishing or whatever. Four Bears has a casino as well. Sleep there Saturday night.
Sunday brunch at the casino and then head north and home through Williston
That sounds like a great trip. Unfortunately, or fortunately as the case may be, I am heading out on a week long trip with my brother starting that same weekend. We are heading north (Meadow Lake/PA) and then heading east through N. Manitoba and swinging our way back down through Riding Mountain and home. Tenting most of the way.
But your trip will be great! I have ridden around Medora and to Newtown (where Four Bears is) lots of times. We used to do that Newtown ride a couple of time a year. Beautiful area. Just watch for the oilfield trucks. Lots more of them on the roads down there than there was 10 years ago, so they have sort of ruined some of the fun. On the other hand, because of them the roads have all been rebuilt in the last 4 years or so.

nice. your trip sounds just as good, if not better! will you get up to flin flon area? i would highly recommend it if you can. nice camping along the Hanson Lake Road, and then south of Flin Flon as well. we did that loop last summer. was the best riding i've ever done in SK.
we have been to Four Bears area, but it has been a few years. we quit going because the oilfield traffic had the highways in such bad shape that after hitting a few potholes while riding, we felt pretty unsafe, so we abandoned our ND trip for other destinations. this will be the first time back in 5 or so years.
I doubt that we will go as far north as Flin flon, but it had crossed my mind b/c of your trip and the pics you sent me. It did look beautiful.
At this point, everything is on the table for us, so we will see. After the last few years of storms and trouble on our bike trips we are talking a little more of a "wait and see/plan as you go" approach to this one.
Again, North Dakota has put a tons of time and money into their roads, so I think you will be happy that way. As well, the oilfield has slowed down a bit as well, so hopefully you get to avoid some of the big trucks. The area around the river and down through Medora is so nice though - you will have a great trip. Looking forward to the pics.
Are you guys sleeping under the stars again or have you given in and bought tents?
i will definitely be sleeping under the stars. a few of the older guys bring tents. they get made fun of most of the weekend though.
