Almost like Moose Jaw (Blog 2 of 30)

Growing up in Moose Jaw meant growing up near the "Canadian Forces Base" and that meant going to lots of airshows and seeing lots of airplanes overhead.

Another Moose Jaw memory is of going to parades and hearing bagpipes.

Therefore, yesterday seemed a lot like being in Moose Jaw.  

The town dedicated a new war memorial (you can read about that here) and as part of that they had a parade and, in particular, bagpipers.

As well, they had two vintage airplanes doing flyovers.  One was a "Spitfire" and the other was a training plane called a "Harvard".  The Harvards have a very distinct sound - one that I heard lots as a kid.
