Blog 18: Barn find

To some, this may not seem like much, but to me it is cool!

My brother-in-law Joel knew that I was looking for old motorcycles to restore, so he came to me about 2 years ago and said that he had found one in a barn near Alameda.

I bought it for $20 and today.........
Now the key here is that it runs (ignore all the smoke and the gauges that are way out of whack..... the smoke is because I dumped some extra oil in the fuel and the gauges.... well I don't know what is going on there)...... the point is that it runs and it even sounds good.

It still needs a ton of work.... the clutch is out of adjustment.... it does not idle that well.... it is covered in grease.... the tires are literally rotting off the thing...... but it runs and moves and that is 80% of the battle (I even took it for a bit of spin around the green space behind the house).

So.... winter project or leave it outside till next summer????  Either way, not a bad $20 investment I would say.
